Award Winner

We were delighted to see John F. Miller, M.D., Henry County Health Officer, receive the prestigious Tony and Mary Hulman Health Achievement Award in the field of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, for his work in organizing the Wellness Council of Henry County.  The award was presented on October 6, 2011, at the Westin Hotel, 50 South Capitol Avenue, Indianapolis, at the 27th annual Tony and Mary Hulman Health Achievement Awards event.  Congratulations, Dr. Miller.

Vision

The vision of the Indiana Association of Public Health Physicians/Local Health Department Organization, Inc. is to serve as a united voice for all local health departments, promote public health standards, improve work performance, public relations, coordinate long range planning with local officials and the community, develop legislation in cooperation with governmental officials, effectively deal with local public health problems, emergencies, disasters and bioterrorism, assure the provision of professional public health services for all Indiana citizens to have a healthy environment and personal health protection for a better quality of life; to serve as an advocacy organization for local health departments and work as a team member with county and city governmental organizations.
